Trip to Winnipeg

After Caleb's baby dedication my parents took Caleb and me back to Wpg for a couple of weeks. We had a great time seeing family. Everyone wanted to meet Caleb! It was a busy couple of weeks!

Caleb and Oma played piano together. Caleb loves music so this was a big hit!

Opa and Caleb did a lot of horsing around. It was great to have my dad around during the days. The timing was perfect since my dad went back to work the week after we left.

While we were in the 'peg Caleb starting eating rice cereal consistently. That was a test of patience and family dynamics. We got through it though and that's what's important!

Caleb also rolled over onto his stomach for the first time. My whole family was there to see it... the only one missing was Adam. We caught the last of the roll on video. Adam was able to see Caleb's first roll from his tummy to back though when we got home. That was pretty special too!

One of the main reasons I wanted Caleb and I to go to Winnipeg when we did was to see my great grandma (my Oma Oma)! (She gets a kick out of it when I call her Oma Oma Oma now!) She's 99 years old and it was important that she meet Caleb. Oma Oma and Oma were both ecstatic to meet Caleb. He is the first grandchild, great grandchild and great great grandchild on my side of the family. While we were there I made sure we took some 5 generation pictures. I have to give my sister Nancy props for all the pics she took. She did an amazing job. The one of all our hands is probably one of my very favorites! I'm planning on blowing it up and framing it.

My brother Kevin took me out in his Camaro which is very fun but a little scary when he opens it up. Especially since it's not exactly complete and still needs some interior work done.

We had sooooo much fun visiting with family and seeing everyone again. I would love to post a ton more pictures but this is getting quite lengthy so I'll indulge in only a few more....

I was so impressed by my brother and brother-in-law and how they interacted with Caleb. They really took to him and got used to having such a little person around. They are fantastic uncles!

My sister on the other hand... is spectacular!!! Nancy and I spent tons of time together and had the best time. It is such a blessing to be able to say that my sister is my best friend. We couldn't get enough of each other. That is a huge testament to how far we have come. I love this picture of the two of us. When I saw it I just stared for a while. I could actually see some similarities between us and was excited. Nancy and I have always looked so different but it's nice to finally see that maybe, just maybe we do look a little like sisters!
After a great 2 weeks it was time for Caleb and me to say goodbye and come back home.

Even though it's dark, I did get a picture of us on the plane. This is a self portrait and there were people starting to board the plane so please forgive the quality.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the highlights of our trip. As you can see we had a great time! Hopefully we can go back in the summer and enjoy the cabin too!

Baby Dedication

At the end of March we had Caleb's baby dedication at church. It was a wonderful service and both sets of grandparents came for the occasion. It's not often that both sides of the family get together since they live in opposite provinces of us. It was really special to have them out and spend time all together.

First Easter

We had a lot of fun celebrating Easter. We went for our first stroller ride without the carseat attached. We bundled Caleb up and he looked a little like a fuzzy bear with the ears on his hood. It was different not to be with family yet had a great weekend spent together and with church family which is a huge blessing to us. We have made some great and lasting connections already in our church and are excited to deepen the relationships we have made with people.

After our walk we had some fun playing with toys and blowing bubbles. Caleb actually seemed somewhat intrigued by them!

Time flies & babies grow!

Well apparently I started this blog with the best of intentions but have been a little slack in keeping it up. Well, I'm going to take this opportunity to catch up what we have been up to the last couple of months. Enjoy!
