I'm back!

Since the last time I blogged, I found out I've had a second child, taken some cake decorating classes, started decorating cakes and cupcakes for people and started my oldest son in Kindergarten. It's been a while... but I am excited to be blogging again.

I will be posting pictures of my cakes and cupcakes and see what else I can share with you.

Glad to be back!

Recipe Swap

So I signed up to take part in my very first recipe swap and I finished the recipe cards. I figured I'd give you all a little sneeky peek. These were fun and actually didn't take that long. I think this was the first time I put orange and pink together and am fairly happy with the way they turned out.

MoJo Girls Challenge #1

For the Mojo girls first challenge I decided to do a page around the word "monkey" since that is what I call my little guy all the time. He loves to climb up on anything and everything he can. When he was really little he would love to just lay with his stomach on our arms and have his hands and legs hanging down. From that moment on he was my monkey.

Notecard holder

I've been trying to find some different things to make lately. It's always nice to be able to give a handmade gift. I made this notecard holder which was so much fun to make. It was pretty easy too!

Cards

I was making some cards and really liked the way they turned out so I wanted to show all of you. I think they are really cutsie and I used more patterned paper then I normally would.

Baby Crawl

On Saturday we entered Caleb into a baby crawl. He even won his first race! He stopped before he reached the end for a little photo op and still won. His second race didn't go so well - but we're proud of him no matter what. He was getting super tired and was way late for his nap, so he was quite the little trooper for how well he did do.

Trip to Winnipeg

After Caleb's baby dedication my parents took Caleb and me back to Wpg for a couple of weeks. We had a great time seeing family. Everyone wanted to meet Caleb! It was a busy couple of weeks!

Caleb and Oma played piano together. Caleb loves music so this was a big hit!

Opa and Caleb did a lot of horsing around. It was great to have my dad around during the days. The timing was perfect since my dad went back to work the week after we left.

While we were in the 'peg Caleb starting eating rice cereal consistently. That was a test of patience and family dynamics. We got through it though and that's what's important!

Caleb also rolled over onto his stomach for the first time. My whole family was there to see it... the only one missing was Adam. We caught the last of the roll on video. Adam was able to see Caleb's first roll from his tummy to back though when we got home. That was pretty special too!

One of the main reasons I wanted Caleb and I to go to Winnipeg when we did was to see my great grandma (my Oma Oma)! (She gets a kick out of it when I call her Oma Oma Oma now!) She's 99 years old and it was important that she meet Caleb. Oma Oma and Oma were both ecstatic to meet Caleb. He is the first grandchild, great grandchild and great great grandchild on my side of the family. While we were there I made sure we took some 5 generation pictures. I have to give my sister Nancy props for all the pics she took. She did an amazing job. The one of all our hands is probably one of my very favorites! I'm planning on blowing it up and framing it.

My brother Kevin took me out in his Camaro which is very fun but a little scary when he opens it up. Especially since it's not exactly complete and still needs some interior work done.

We had sooooo much fun visiting with family and seeing everyone again. I would love to post a ton more pictures but this is getting quite lengthy so I'll indulge in only a few more....

I was so impressed by my brother and brother-in-law and how they interacted with Caleb. They really took to him and got used to having such a little person around. They are fantastic uncles!

My sister on the other hand... is spectacular!!! Nancy and I spent tons of time together and had the best time. It is such a blessing to be able to say that my sister is my best friend. We couldn't get enough of each other. That is a huge testament to how far we have come. I love this picture of the two of us. When I saw it I just stared for a while. I could actually see some similarities between us and was excited. Nancy and I have always looked so different but it's nice to finally see that maybe, just maybe we do look a little like sisters!
After a great 2 weeks it was time for Caleb and me to say goodbye and come back home.

Even though it's dark, I did get a picture of us on the plane. This is a self portrait and there were people starting to board the plane so please forgive the quality.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the highlights of our trip. As you can see we had a great time! Hopefully we can go back in the summer and enjoy the cabin too!
